Uganda has confirmed six new cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), bringing the total number of infections in the current outbreak to 15, according to health authorities.
The latest infections raise concerns over the spread of the virus as officials step up surveillance and containment measures. Twelve patients are currently receiving treatment, while two have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
The outbreak has so far resulted in one death, with health teams continuing to trace contacts and monitor potential exposures to prevent further transmission.

Officials say efforts are underway to strengthen screening, disease surveillance, public awareness campaigns, and rapid response systems in affected areas. The government is also working with health partners to contain the outbreak and prevent new infections.
Uganda has previously experienced several Ebola outbreaks and has established emergency preparedness mechanisms to help detect and manage cases quickly. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant, report suspected infections, and follow public health guidelines.
The confirmation of six additional cases highlights the ongoing risk posed by Ebola and the need for continued monitoring and swift intervention to curb the spread of the disease.
