UK Government Charters Repatriation Flight from Muscat to Evacuate British Nationals Amid Middle East Tensions
The UK government has arranged a special repatriation flight from Muscat to assist British nationals seeking to leave the Middle East amid ongoing regional attacks.
The chartered flight — the first to be specifically organised by the UK government in response to the escalating situation — is scheduled to depart from Muscat International Airport on Wednesday at 23:00 local time (19:00 GMT). Priority will be given to the most vulnerable passengers.
Eligible travellers include British nationals, their spouses or partners, and children under the age of 18.
The Foreign Office confirmed it will directly contact those eligible to allocate seats and has strongly advised individuals not to travel to the airport unless they have been officially notified.
With thousands of commercial flights cancelled across the region, many British citizens who wish to return home remain stranded.
In its announcement, the Foreign Office also urged British nationals who had previously registered their presence in the UAE but are currently in Oman to urgently complete an online form if they wish to be considered for a seat on the charter flight.
Non-British dependents must hold valid travel documentation to qualify, such as a visa or permission to remain in the UK granted for more than six months.
The Foreign Office added that it will continue working with airlines to secure additional routes to help British nationals return home safely.
